Cooking on an Electrolux induction hob

Electrolux is a fantastic kitchenware brand that’s well worth investing in. However, if you have bought an induction hob, you are possibly wondering how to use your Electrolux induction hob and if you’re using it for the first time, things might seem a little bit confusing at first. But, there’s no need to worry.

If you want to keep using your old, traditional pots and pans, you’ll normally need an induction hob converter. However, these options are not always efficient – meaning it really is worth investing in a new set of induction pots and pans for the best results.

Now you know the basics – how do you actually power your hob up and start using it?

How to turn your Electrolux hob on and off

In order to turn on your Electrolux induction hob, start by locating the on/off switch on the bottom left corner of the control panel – it’s that simple.

Once you have located it, press the switch for about a second, at which point the induction hob will turn on. You will then need to set the heat setting use the control bars for the rings at the bottom of the control panel. You will have to slide left to lower the temperature of the ring, or right to increase the temperature.

The light display on the left of the control panel will show you the heat setting you’ve chosen.

You can also use the Automatic Heat Up function to help your hob reach the desired temperature far quicker. Simply press the letter P on the control panel, then press the temperature at which you’d like your ring to heat up at.

After about three seconds you will see the letter A appear on the light display to indicate that the hob is on automatic. In order to turn off the Automatic Heat Up, simply change the temperature of the ring yourself.

When you are ready to turn off the appliance, simply press the on/off switch for about a second, as you would to turn it on.

The hob will automatically turn off if the temperature has not been set after turning the hob on, if the hob becomes too hot, if you do not have the right kind of pans, or if the control panel has been covered by something (such as a cloth, a pan, cooking utensils, etc.).

The hob will make a beeping sound until the object has been removed, however, if it is on the control panel for longer than ten seconds, then the hob will turn itself off.

How to use the child safety lock on your Electrolux induction hob

In order to prevent children or pets from accidentally turning the induction hob on, you can use the child safety lock.

Turn the hob on, then press the lock signal for about four seconds. You will see the letter L appear on the light display, indicating that the hob is indeed locked. You can then turn the hob back off by pressing the on/off switch. This will prevent anyone from being able to heat up the hob while it is locked.

In order to turn off the hob lock, turn on the hob, then press the lock symbol again for about four seconds. After the four seconds, you should notice a ‘0’ appear on the light display, indicating that the child safety lock has been turned off.

If you would like to use the hob while it is locked, then turn on the hob – then press the lock symbol for about four seconds. You will then need to set the heat temperature within the first ten seconds of the lock being turned off. Once you have finished using the hob, turn it off using the off switch. The lock will then automatically turn back on. Easy!

How to use the timer on your Electrolux induction hob

You can set a count down timer on your Electrolux induction hob to ensure that your food cooks through with precision. This setting will automatically turn off the ring in use when the timer has reached 0.

To make use of the induction timer, turn the hob on and select a cooking zone. Once you have selected it, press the clock symbol until the light for the selected ring comes on.

Then, press the ‘+’ symbol for the timer. It will countdown from 0 to 99 minutes. You can increase the time by pressing the ‘+’ symbol and decreasing it using the ‘-‘ symbol.

However, if you would simply like to use the timer as a general countdown for the hob, then ensure that no ring has been selected. Press the clock symbol, then press the ‘+’ or ‘-‘ symbols to select the time.

Once the timer has finished, you will hear a beeping indicating this is the case, and you should see ’00’ flashing on the hob. In order to stop the beeping noise, simply press the clock symbol.
