A little like the saying ‘it does what it says on the tin’, a soup maker does just that, (but without the tin).
However, it’s a bit more detailed than that. The best soup makers allow you to create your own unique broths and blends straight out of a single unit.
You pick the ingredients, the cream and the condiments (whatever your recipe states), and a soup maker will do the rest for you.
Well, yes. However, instead of just blending and mixing your ingredients, they will cook them, too.
This means that you can switch a soup maker on and it will take every step you need between actively throwing in your ingredients and then serving them up as a hot, piping meal.
It should take less than 30 minutes for you to create some delicious soups. Of course, this may well vary from system to system.
A soup maker takes away a lot of the hassle and the strain in creating your own homemade soups.
For one thing, as a fine blender which will cook your soups for you on the spin. No need for a pan, spoon and blender, just one unit will do everything for you, with an added benefit of saving you time when it comes to washing up too.
What’s more, it tends to be a quicker and easier way to make broths. If you are looking to create soups from scratch, there can be a lot of prep involved. This depends on the type of soups you want to make, of course.

As always, there are going to be a few points you should consider when it comes to finding the perfect soups maker in 2022. Whether you’re tired of cooking soup by hand, or you really just want to see what the fuss is all about, here are a few points to keep in mind:
Two litres seems to be the maximum, but whether you are making fine purees or chunky soup, less than two shouldn’t set you back too much. Look for at least 1.5L, ideally.
How quick should your maker be at cooking? Most systems will let you cook broths within 30 minutes. Some, however, are ready within five! Take a look at some of the best soup makers on our list to compare.
There are several soup makers on the market which offer glass views into your soups. This isn’t strictly a necessity but it is a nice to have, just to glance through and see at what stage your soup making is at.
The way a system heats up your chunky soup can vary. Some rely on blade friction, while others have heating elements. There are schools of thought out there which argue that one is better than the other – but there actually isn’t that much difference.
Of course, the best soup machines in 2022 not only refine the cooking process but combine different kitchen appliances into one. A blending function could crush ice, make smoothies and more besides. Regardless of whether you’re after an easy soup or smoothie with lots of chunks, functionality and versatility is a definite plus.

I had the idea for Which Kitchen Appliance? In 2016 when a friend was planning a new kitchen and asked me to help her choose her new kitchen appliances. She knew that I had trained as a chef, had a passion for cooking and an interest in interior design.
After hours and hours of trawling websites looking for a double oven, built-in microwave, hob & extractor fan the excitement that was soon waned…we were bored and frazzled. But finally, we succeeded and she got her new kitchen.
This led me to think that there must be a better way of researching kitchen appliances, if only there were somewhere that you could go and find kitchen appliance reviews and helpful hints and tips on getting the best from and look after your appliance under one roof with information that was comprehensive, easy to understand and that you could trust…and so WhichKitchenAppliance? was born. I now work full-time on WhichKitchenAppliance?
